Description
ROSE OF THE MONSOON
Pure Perfume Oil
A genuine floral attar distilled directly into real Mysore sandalwood — not a perfume blend labelled as attar, but true traditional distillation.
At a glance
Type: Pure perfume oil
Format: 1 mL bottle
Profile: Floral attar, Mysore sandalwood, Mitti, patchouli
Best for: Those who want to experience a real Indian attar built through traditional distillation.
In today’s market, many products called attar are simply perfume blends.
A real attar is different — flowers, herbs, and botanicals are distilled directly into sandalwood oil, so the material settles into the wood itself.
This perfume follows that tradition from the beginning.
Multiple Indian florals were co-distilled into aged Mysore sandalwood: rose, jasmine, kewra, lotus, champaca, marigold, and kadamba, with wild khus, mitti, and Karnataka patchouli shaping the deeper body beneath them.
The opening is unusually vivid — cool, slightly bitter, almost sparkling, with a dark cola-like lift touched by a subtle cherry nuance, giving the perfume an unexpected brightness before the deeper florals begin to unfold.
Rose sits at the centre, but never in one form alone. It moves between powdery rose, fresh rose, softly sweet rose, dry rose, and moments that feel almost vintage, as though several expressions of the flower are unfolding together.
Jasmine does not separate as a dominant floral note here instead, it brightens the composition, giving lift and fullness to everything around it, while lotus adds softness and a slightly coloured floral texture that keeps the perfume constantly shifting.
Mitti remains clearly present behind the florals, giving the perfume a rain-soaked earth depth that changes the whole atmosphere, while the patchouli sits deeper in the background — dark, textured, and full, adding weight without disturbing the floral balance.
A soft incense-like effect runs quietly through the centre, holding the florals, earth, and woods together.
Underneath it all, the Mysore sandalwood remains steady — creamy, buttery, smooth, and deeply settled, giving warmth and softness long after the brighter notes begin to quieten.
What makes this attar special is the way every part remains connected.
Nothing feels added.
Everything rises and settles as one body.
