This is Tazha Valley Rose — a Bulgarian Rosa damascena distilled from freshly harvested flowers grown on a 120-hectare certified organic plantation near the village of Tazha, in Bulgaria's celebrated Rose Valley.

The flowers are harvested fresh and steam distilled on site within hours.

What comes through is not simply a beautiful floral rose. It has the dimensional character that makes Bulgarian Damascena such an important material in perfumery — rich petals, warm honey, litchi-like fruitiness, waxy depth and a subtle spicy edge.

The aroma

Open the bottle and there is no mistaking what you are smelling.

The rose is full and immediately floral, but underneath it sits something far more interesting: warm honey, an almost litchi-like fruitiness, soft wax and a faint spicy edge.

That waxiness matters.

It gives the material body and texture. Instead of smelling like a simple interpretation of a rose petal, the aroma feels three-dimensional — petals, pollen, sweetness, greenery and warmth arriving together.

On skin or blotter, the brighter floral facets gradually settle and the deeper character begins to show. Honeyed rose becomes softer and rounder, the fruitiness folds inward, and a warm waxy floral trail remains close to the skin.

It is beautiful on its own, but its real importance becomes obvious when you begin composing with it.

Wearing the material

This rose otto can be worn neat on skin in very small amounts. Applied sparingly, it opens bright and fresh, then settles into a light, watery rose presence that feels transparent and alive. Ideal for those who enjoy rose that breathes and evolves rather than one that weighs down.

Additional notes

This rose otto may crystallize at temperatures below 20°C. This is a natural characteristic of high-quality rose otto and a sign of purity. Gently warm the bottle in your hands and shake lightly (with the cap secured) to restore it to liquid form.
